Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) describes the rules for using Bookbrary, including our AI-powered Book Genie feature. It is part of our Terms of Service. By using Bookbrary, you agree to follow it.

1. What We Expect

Bookbrary is a place for reading and creativity. Use the Service in a lawful, respectful, and responsible way. Treat other users and the platform with respect.

2. Prohibited Content

You must not create, request, generate, share, or distribute content that:

  • Infringes intellectual property — including reproducing copyrighted books, articles, lyrics, or other works you do not own or have permission to use. Do not use the Book Genie to recreate or substantially copy existing copyrighted works.
  • Is sexually explicit, lewd, or pornographic — including sexual or suggestive content, or content sexualizing minors (which is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and reporting where required by law).
  • Is hateful, harassing, or abusive — including content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
  • Is deceptive or fraudulent — including impersonation, scams, or spreading knowingly false information.
  • Contains malware or harmful code, or attempts to disrupt the Service.

3. The Book Genie

The Book Genie uses AI to generate book content from your ideas and prompts. All content generated by the Book Genie is owned by Bookbrary LLC. When using the Book Genie:

  • Do not infringe copyright. Do not prompt the Book Genie to reproduce, adapt, or closely imitate existing copyrighted books, characters, or other protected works without permission.
  • No lewd or explicit content. Do not use the Book Genie to create sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate material.
  • Keep it lawful and safe. Generated content must comply with Section 2 above.
  • Your ideas, our content. You may submit ideas and prompts, but you acknowledge that Bookbrary LLC owns the ideas you submit and all content generated from them. You are responsible for ensuring your ideas and prompts do not violate this Policy or the law.

4. Consequences of Violations

If you violate this Policy, Bookbrary may take action, including:

  • Removing or disabling the offending content.
  • Suspending or limiting your access to features, including the Book Genie.
  • Suspending or terminating your account and removing you from the platform, without refund.
  • Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement where required by law.

5. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content that you believe violates this Policy, please report it to us at support@bookbrary.vercel.app. We review reports and take action as appropriate.
